Social services were provided to 2,483 individual
s in 2023.
SEA's social services are provided by licensed social workers who:
- Complete assessments;
- Develop service plans; and
- Provide assistance to stabilize the crisis situation.
Our social workers are knowledgeable of local resources and often collaborate with other agencies to better serve individuals and families in our community.
Food Assistance was provided to 1,945 individuals in 2023.
SEA is able to meet client food needs in by:
- Utilizing the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama.
- Recovering food from restaurants and grocery stores that might otherwise go to waste.
- Accepting food donations from churches, businesses, schools, and individuals.
- Working with local farmers markets and the University of Montevallo Organic Garden for fresh produce during the summer months
2023 Services include:
- Housing assistance provided for 125 individuals
- Utility assistance for 845 individuals
- Dental assistance to 109 individuals
- Doctor and prescription assistance to 131 individuals
- Transportation to 89 individuals
