Shelby Emergency Assistance receives multiple calls for assistance every day. There is currently a waiting list for services. Please read through the information carefully before submitting your request so we can serve you quickly and efficiently.
Please review the qualifying information before completing a request for assistance. Complete one intake form for the primary need you are requesting assistance with.
Clients may receive food assistance from the SEA food pantry 6 times a year. If you are a new client please complete the form and a Case Manager will reach out to you.
If you are a returning client please call Maria at 205-665-1942 to schedule an appointment.
You may be eligible for assistance if:
1. You have a disconnect notice on a water, power, or gas bill (it must be in disconnect status or off, to potentially qualify).
2. Your household has experienced a recent crisis (loss of job, illness, unexpected change in income, unexpected expense, etc.)
3. You have not received assistance from SEA for utilities in the past 12 months
Housing assistance funds are limited to those who have an eviction notice or are currently homeless. There is currently a waiting list for housing assistance. Complete the form to request assistance.
